Step into the elegant world of post-Edwardian England at the Biltmore Downton Abbey Exhibition. Open now through April 7th, 2020, in Asheville, NC.

The Biltmore once again hosting Downton Abbey is apropos, to say the least. The make-believe world of the Crawley’s pairs perfectly with the real world of the Vanderbilt’s, here in Asheville. This time around, the exhibit is even more in depth than before. Visitors to may be excused if they occasionally lose track of where one world ends and the other begins.

And what a world!

For fans of the show, the Downton Abbey Exhibition is truly an immersive and absorbing experience. You’ll re-experience key moments from the show’s six-seasons, along with the social history and way of life.

Perhaps best of all, the Biltmore is only a short drive from our Asheville inn, Bent Creek Lodge.

The Downton Abbey Exhibition

The Downton Abbey Exhibition features set recreations, costumes, and never-before-seen multimedia elements. These are displayed in two separate locations on the Biltmore Estate.

The Amherst at Deerpark hosts several famous Downton Abbey sets, artifacts, and exclusive multimedia content. See Lady Mary’s bedroom, Mr. Carson’s pantry, Mrs. Patmore’s kitchen, the grand dining room, servants bell board and quarters, and more close-up.

The Biltmore Legacy in Antler Hill Village features a grand display of more than 50 Downton Abbey costumes. See the elegant gowns, crisp suits and other post-Edwardian fashions worn by Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville, Dame Maggie Smith, and others.

Beyond Downton Abbey

Your Downton Abbey Exhibition admission also provides access to Biltmore’s historic house, gardens, grounds, and Antler Hill Village & Winery. Take a self-guided tour of Biltmore House and enjoy a wine tasting at Biltmore Winery.

Other ideas for your Downton Abbey themed visit include taking in Afternoon Tea at The Inn and going on a Through The Servants’ Eyes Tour. This behind-the-scenes tour will take you “below stairs” to the rarely seen servants’ areas of the estate.

Shops around the estate are also currently offering a variety of Downton Abbey-inspired products. Fascinators, jewelry, tea sets, books, apparel, and more inspired by the show. Available for a limited time only.

The Biltmore Downton Abbey Exhibition runs now through April 7th, 2020. Get tickets and further details at the exhibition website.
