There’s almost never a bad time for a hike in Asheville. As waterfall enthusiasts know, however, spring may be one of the best times. Asheville waterfalls are at their most spectacular during this season, swollen by rains and snowmelt. Better yet, the cooler temps and early date mean hiking is more pleasant and less crowded than in summer.
Getting out of doors in spring is one of the most refreshing and rewarding ways to reconnect with nature. As winter’s chill fades the landscape awakens, coming alive with blooming wildflowers, budding trees, lilting birdsong, and rushing waters.
There’s just something energizing about the sound of rushing water and the falls’ mist hanging in the air. Now is the time to get out and see these powerful cascades as they tumble and splash their way down cliffs and rock faces.
Many guests of Bent Creek Lodge come to the Asheville to explore the area’s natural beauty. Our location south of town, nestled in the woods just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, makes getting out into the great outdoors a snap. In fact, we have our own nature trails right here on the property and are neighbors with the NC Arboretum. So lace up those hiking boots, grab your camera, and set out to discover some mesmerizing Asheville waterfalls.
