The Southern Highland Craft Guild’s Folk Art Center is another favorite attraction, located at Blue Ridge Parkway Milepost 382. The Center houses three galleries, a museum, library, auditorium, and bookstore. It’s also home to America’s oldest craft store, the Allanstand Craft Shop. Visitors can view, shop, and enjoy demonstrations of traditional Appalachian handcrafts; weaving, bowl-turning, broom-making, and more.

Our neighbor, NC Arboretum, is just three minutes from Bent Creek Lodge and another popular spot along the Parkway. Located at 100 Frederick Law Olmsted Way, it features miles of scenic hiking trails and hundreds of acres of beautiful forests and gardens.
