You are cordially invited to share two nights lodging at the Bent Creek Lodge in Asheville, NC for a Bourbon Dinner Weekend.  We are honored to have Brian Smith as our event bourbon sommelier. Over bourbon chili, gourmet breakfast, and a 6-course seafood & steak dinner, he’ll discuss bourbon legends and history. He’ll share information on the event pairings and tips you can use in the future. Join us for a new way to tastefully explore Asheville!


On Your Arrival Day (Friday)

Come to Asheville early and enjoy the vibrant downtown art and craft beer scene. Asheville has more breweries per capita than any other city.  It is also high on the list for craft cocktails and culinary honors.

Check in at the lodge anytime after 12 noon.

Back at the lodge, as you relax and greet old friends, the lodge will provide:

Afternoon Cocktail reception starting at 4 PM

  • Charcuterie board and cheese tray
  • Local craft beers
  • Select wines 

Casual Supper between 6 and 8 PM

  • Chili and Gumbo Dinner in February.
  • With home made bread, salad, banana pudding.
  • Grilled chicken dinner in March
  • With potato salad, broccoli salad, baked beans, watermelon and other fixins
  • Texas garlic toast, buns, and ending with banana pudding

Day Two (Saturday)

Breakfast

Coffee bar 7 AM

Lodge Country Breakfast 8:30 – 9 AM

  • Great coffee starts the day at 7 AM 
  • A hearty lodge breakfast is served between 8:30 and 9 AM  

Explore the local scenes on your own.  The NC arboretum and the Blue Ridge Parkway are adjacent to the lodge for hiking and touring.  Downtown Hendersonville and Asheville offer excursions for art, beer, and outdoor waterfall adventures, wine tastings or walking foodie tours of Asheville’s finest restaurants.

Cocktail Sippin’ Reception 4 PM

Back at the lodge around 4 PM, there will be Bourbon sipping around the fireplace, maybe cigars on the front porch (bring your own), craft beer and light snacks.  A fancy bourbon-paired dinner starts with bourbon cocktails at 5 PM.  Local craft beers and wine will also be offered.  A six-course dinner, paired with selected bourbons will begin at 6PM.  Dinner will feature…

1st Course – Appetizer

  • Shrimp, Sausage & Charred Pepper Skewers with Old Bay Remoulade Sauce

2nd Course – Salad

  • Mixed Green Salad with Butternut Squash, Pickled Red Onion & Mozzarella Pearls, tossed in Sherry Dijon Vinaigrette

3rd Course

  • Honey Bourbon Glazed Salmon
  • Scallion Relish over Wild Rice

4th Course – Main

  • Roasted Beef Tenderloin with Demi Glaze
  • Sweet Potato Puree & Broccolini

5th Course – Dessert

  • Bourbon Caramel Apple Tart Tatin with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

6th Course – Hand-Rolled Chocolate Truffles and Bourbon

  • Asheville Chocolate’s handmade truffles rolled with select bourbons

Day Three (Sunday) – Optional

Again, Coffee at 7 AM and a hearty lodge breakfast between 8:30 – 9 AM.  Take an excursion to some of Asheville’s River Arts District or enjoy a private golf-cart tour for a small group.   Enjoy a tour of rooftop bars or seek out some of the 31 breweries in town—many concentrated around Lexington Avenue on the Southside area.  Visiting the amazing Grove Park Inn for afternoon cocktails is absolutely beautiful and relaxing.

Downtown Dinner 6 PM

Stay for the third evening and enjoy Asheville’s James Beard Award-winning restaurants with your brothers and friends.   We highly recommend the Southern Living Restaurant of the year: Curate’, which features Spanish tapas and wine; Strada for great Italian; Bargello for Mediterranean style dinners in an amazing space; or Rhubarb for farm to table inspired cuisine. 


Day Four (Monday) – Optional

Enjoy coffee and conversation at the fireplace and a leisurely, hearty lodge breakfast. Check out by noon for departure.


Charges & Fine Print

The three-day, two-night package includes everything at the lodge, inclusive of gratuities, and taxes.

The total package is $1,195 plus tax per couple for three days, including the bourbon paired dinner on Saturday night, casual chili super on Friday night, cocktail receptions on Friday and Saturday.

If inn stay is only Friday and Saturday nights, check out time is 11 AM on Sunday. Ask about extending your room nights.

The cost of day trips off property, guided tours, taxis, uber, golf, guided fishing expeditions and dinner on the third night are your responsibility.

Downtown Asheville, Downtown Hendersonville, and the Biltmore Estate are all about 15 minutes from the Lodge. However, the lodge is in a nature lover’s paradise, located adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the NC Arboretum, which provide ample opportunities for hiking right outside your room door without getting in your car. Asheville is known as the beer capital of the world because if features more breweries per capita than anywhere else, about 40 something to explore. And Asheville is an art lover’s delight. Asheville is consistently rated a foodie town, showcasing many James-Beard nominated chefs and winners. The Asheville mid-day walking food tours allow guests to meet the owners or chefs at five restaurants. Try a bite at each location and end at an amazing chocolate shop.
